Of recent, i have had a sizeable number of fresh male undergraduates ask me about my take on building an emotional relationship with a Unilag girl. It seemed they were all scared of the negative presentation of Unilag girls as materialistic gold diggers and extravagant spendthrifts.
I keep telling them that it is definitely not so, i know there are some Ladies who Money controls the steering wheel of their lives. These are the ones who rides in any car, not minding who is driving, the ones who eat at any Cafeteria, without bothering about the source of the Money, i know there are the gluttons who think of Men as fools and Mumu's who are easily deceived and exploited. These category of Babes are the career thieves, they are a no no.
On the other hand, there is another category, who would act like those i just mentioned above, but they only behave in such manner if they do not love you or think of you only for the short run. These same set of Babes would do anything for Someone they Love or care about, its just that they want to kill two birds at the same time. They want to act like players and at the same time be a 'good girl'.
There is another category of totally confused babes, the ones who do not know what they want at all. Their standards are determined by the achievements of their friends and room mates. One day, they want a stable relationship like Tola, the next day, they want two sugar Daddies like Janet.
This category of Babes are the worst kind, they have no aspirations or expectations of their own, they are usually the Guinea pigs in the Laboratories of their friends. Tonight her roommates says 'Oh, that Tolu dude is fine o, better gree for am' and the next day, she is genuinely in love with Tolu. Next week, the story changes and she starts nodding her head and smiling when the same roommates starts proposing that she break up with Tolu because it seems he is too stingy. If you ever find your self in a relationship with a confused Babe, then better get ready to act, think, buy and talk like a million Dudes, because with every passing day, she would set a different standard.
Yet another faction of Babes is the ones who know what they want, they may look flashy or too drab, they may be rich or poor, they may be intelligent or not, but they definitely have a mind of their own. One way to know such Babes is their talkativeness, they are always outspoken and overbearing. They make sure that their opinions are usually the standards for everyone around them to follow. This category of Babes most times do more talking than listening. You would find them dressing as they like, they do not care for your status or appearance. Once they make up their minds, its for real and for the long run. With such Babes, a dude can go to sleep knowing that when he wakes up, he would still meet the same unchanged person, not a crazy fellow whose dreams and friend's advice have left distorted.
Finally, from a personal perspective, almost everyone loves Material things, especially when they come at the expense of others. Even guys are guilty of this, therefore the ladies should not be used as scape goats.
I believe that when you love and care about someone, then just go ahead and ask the person out. You should always appear as your natural self, no pretence nor bragging and no stupid "I have a house in Dubai or a Lamborghini on the high sea" shii. If the relationship eventually works out, then you are in luck, but if it ends up with both of you facing opposite sides, then you had it coming, after all, every relationship only have two finite destinations, that is a happy ending or a sad ending. So one should always be prepared for either. Go out there, love, ask them out, make memories together, if you like make Babies (that' none of my business), but in all, you would be better off knowing that you failed not because you never tried.
