ABIDOGUN AMINAT - 01

Surely, God is an expert when it comes to creativity and originality, little wonder no two people dead or alive are the same. Also is the fact that life is not fair and does not always give us what we want, but God is definitely just and compensates everyone with a strength in place of some of their other weaknesses.

Although small in stature, Lara as we fondly call her surely has a big mouth as compensation for her physical brevity. From a distance, you would never know what she was capable of, She always looked quiet, calm, and harmless, but then just like the bee, you would be shocked at how aggressive and vocal she can be whenever she is aroused from her nest.

From my opinion, i would assert that she is a very focused and disciplined person. From the outset, she had her own set of friends whom she accordingly stuck with throughout our 4-year stay in the university of Lagos, also, her dedication and discipline is very commendable especially with respect to religion and social/peer influence. Never missing a single one of the daily 5 prayers prescribed by Islam, she stuck to her scarf and dignified dressing throughout her almost half a decade stay in the Institution.

The University of Lagos with all its dynamism and peculiarities is reputable for not only its high academic standard, but also the extreme social life it affords its students. Beach parties, pool parties, house parties, mask parties, Barbecue nights, freshers' nights, hall weeks, departmental and faculty weeks, just name it, even protests were quickly converted into fun spots and demonstrators suddenly became revelers even as the DJ became the hub of the protest. The situation is so dire that even i, who was supposed to be puritanical was also caught-up in these plethora of social activities, Lara was not. I am sure her attendance rate at any Club is nil.

On a more personal level, both of us never had a serious relationship until the last semester of our stay in School, this was when she came to help me out with my heavy load of ASSESA Work. I came to realize that she was a very sweet, understanding, hardworking, and emphatically Honest person. She knows the time to play and the time to be serious.

I am proud to be associated with her, grateful of having worked with her, and happy to have known her on a personal basis. At the end of my stay in school, she was already ranking very high on my list of very important People.

* ASSESA stands for Arts and Social Sciences Education Students Association
