5 Reasons why Netflix won't work in Nigeria

1. Finance: you would need to have a monthly subscription plan running in order to use the service. You would also need to pay for the exhorbitant internet connection
our network providers offer us. Over there in the US, there are free Wifi networks everywhere, but here in Nigeria, you would be interested to find out that the cost of Data alone is about five times the least subscription plan for Netflix which is just $7.99 a month.

2. Poor Network connection: the fact that we pay exhorbitant prices for data plans, does not guarantee us good network. Connecting to the internet is a huge problem for the average Nigerian, as even our broadband networks do not guarantee fast internet speed.

3. Waste of Time: Have you ever spent 30 minutes trying to watch a 10 minute youtube clip? Yea, that's what i mean. With our super slow internet connection, one may even spend a whole day without successfully completing a single movie.

4. Power supply: pom, pom, pom, battery low! You know that sound right? Well, power supply has improved drastically in recent times, but i would'nt stream movies online at the expense of my battery, just because i believe PHCN would bring the power later. No! the guys in PHCN are heart breakers, they never turn up when you need them the most.

5. Device requirements: i don't think our Tecnos and Infinix would be compatible with Netflix minimum requirements and even if they do, you still need a way to connect the device to your TV, probably with a HDMI cable for the best experience. Well, some people have HDMI cables, while a whole lot don't even know what it means or looks like.

Bottomline, there are people that would have no single hitch enjoying Netflix in Nigeria, but the truth is that most people would face a lot of frustration. Very few can even afford to stream youtube videos. Ladies and gentlemen, the ball is in your court.
