My name actually comes before that of Winifred, but i would skip myself and let anyone else write about me. It would be very dumb of me to speak highly of myself, I would rather have others do me that Justice.
Moving on to our subject matter for today, Winifred, i have more than a few things to say about her.
Before the end of her first year in School, Winifred had already contested for and lost the crown for the Miss Unilag beauty pageant contest. It is however worthy of note that she emerged from this Defeat with an even greater resolve to make a bigger mark on the Nigerian Fashion scene. Whether she has achieved this ambition yet is of little interest to this discourse. One thing i can say for a surety is that She has immense Love for Fashion, especially as it relates to the runway.
Most people would not hesitate to label her a snub, there was a time i too would not hesitate to condone such judgement. She seldom talked to anybody and even when some serious issue demands that she associate, she keeps it very brief and to the barest minimum. Winifred however is not a proud person by nature, but she does a very good job of giving that impression. Upon insistence, She easily makes a good conversationist, but then, that is upon insistence.
Light skinned, skinny and with a body reminiscent of the ideal 21st century model, Winifred has an impressive personal carriage and self confidence. She is also capable of producing a beautiful smile whenever she feels like it. Another distinctive quality of hers is her voice, lite and melodious, she chirps like the nightingale, speaks the English language with an uncommon accent which neither belongs to the Brits nor the Americans.
Did i mention that she is of Ibo extraction, tall and did not have many friends amongst her course mates? Or that she attends class at will and makes academic scholarship seem very easy? It is very difficult to bump into her in School and even more difficult for her to bump into you.
On the whole, Wini is nice, friendly and if i dare say, Fun. From the outside, she appears as a very peaceful and non troublesome person. If i have any regrets, it would be that we never got to speak more frequently. My God! I loved to hear her sweet voice!
