ADELEKE BABARINDE AMOS - class series

For some strange reason, Amos prefers being called Amosquito. The first time i came across this name was somewhere on my Bbm contact list, i can still vividly remember the way i was fascinatingly   ruminating over the strangeness of such a name. However, with time, i learnt to accept its existence with open arms.
By our second year in school, someone had already been shown the exit door due to his outrageously poor grades. This left our class of thirty-three being reduced by one. Then as if by an act of God, Amosquito came along, a veteran Diploma student, who had scaled through the luxury of Diploma and was now faced with the harsh realities of being a full time student. Amos joined our ranks in year two and the equation was balanced once again.

Having been through College of education previously, He was experienced in all the multi-facets of University diplomacy and relations, Amosquito had no difficulty blending into the scheme of affairs. Before our fifth class together, he was already acquainted with almost everyone, so much that we thought he was an errant coursemate all along, howbeit, one who had decided to change his ways.
Additionally, Amos was an intelligent student, although he always tried his best to camouflage and downplay it. Unfortunately, his overall demeanor, especially the way he speaks and his exam scores tended to flagrantly disprove of his supposed averageness.
Buchi Emecheta in her book 'Joys of motherhood' claimed that 'a man is never ugly', therefore if that statement is anything to go by, then Amosquito, like every other man out there is by all physical standards, a handsome young Man who also possesses a very fine sense of humour and wit. He was friendly, easy to interact with and his social etiquette is top-notch.
Overall, Amosquito was a good friend of mine, his sunny smiles and ever welcoming face would endear anyone to him. His intelligence would keep you spellbound, while his ability to relate with people of all ages would leave you not only fascinated, but also intrigued. Talking about intrigues, till date, i have never stopped wondering how he managed to relate so well with many Lecturers in the faculty, maybe he would be benevolent enough to disclose this secret to me, once he reads this post.
